Aspire PockeX, what the maker's own website really says

Searching for the Aspire PockeX on the maker’s own website is a sensible habit. Retailer listings copy one another and end up contradicting each other, on power as much as on coil compatibility. The catch is that Aspire’s site also needs careful reading, since it files the PockeX inside a series, spreads it over several pages and hides a trap of its own. Here is what you will find there, page by page, and where it parts company with the shop shelves.

Aspire PockeX, what the official website actually holds

Aspirecig.com is Aspire’s official website. The Aspire PockeX page belongs to a series of two devices, the PockeX itself, an all-in-one pen, and the PockeX Box, its evolution in a boxier format. Around the product page, the site offers a dedicated FAQ, two downloadable manuals (standard and TPD) and a product verification centre.

Together these four resources answer most of the questions buyers ask, provided you cross-check them, because none of them alone says what the device accepts or refuses.

The official PockeX spec sheet, figure by figure

Aspire’s spec sheet fits in a few lines. The table below sets them out as they appear on the PockeX page and in its manual.

FeatureAspire’s figure
Dimensions117.7 × 19.7 mm
Net weight86 g
Battery1500 mAh, built in

Coils supplied0.6 Ω (316L stainless steel) and 1.2 Ω (Kanthal)
Resistance range0.5 to 2.0 Ω according to the manual

Bypass output and the wattage Aspire never states

A bypass output sends the battery’s voltage straight to the coil, with no adjustment. There is no way to dial in watts, and the real output drops as the cell runs down.

Aspire’s page gives no wattage range at all for the PockeX. The 18 to 23 W that several retailers quote for the 0.6 Ω coil comes from those retailers, not from the official sheet. The nearest figure Aspire publishes belongs to the PockeX Box.

Two charging ports depending on the batch

Aspire lists two charging ports, USB-C on recent units and Micro USB on the older version. The downloadable manual still mentions a micro USB cable in its safety notes. Before buying a spare lead, check the port on your own unit.

PockeX or PockeX Box, the two models in the series

The series uses one name for two formats. Aspire presents them as an all-in-one product, the PockeX, and a side-by-side box, the PockeX Box, which the maker describes as an evolution requested by its users.

What Aspire’s store lists for the PockeX Box

The official store listing gives a 2000 mAh battery, bypass output, USB-C charging and adjustable airflow. The coils come in the same values as on the pen, this time with a recommended output of 18 to 20 W at 0.6 Ω and 10 to 12 W at 1.2 Ω.

The tank comes in two versions, 2.6 ml as standard and 2.0 ml in the TPD version. UK rules cap refillable tanks at 2 ml, with nicotine e-liquid limited to 20 mg/ml in bottles of up to 10 ml, so the 2 ml version is the one that can be sold here. Aspire states that it ships the TPD version by default to countries covered by those rules.

The trap on the presentation page

On aspirecig.com, the PockeX Box presentation page, the one reached from the series overview, displays the spec sheet of a different device, the Vilter S, with its 500 mAh battery and non-replaceable coil. The correct data sits on the listing in Aspire’s own store. Quoting “the official page” for the PockeX Box without saying which one simply passes the error on.

PockeX coils, where retailers contradict each other

This is where listings diverge most. Some shops describe the PockeX as compatible with Nautilus X and Nautilus XS coils, which sounds logical since all of them rely on Aspire’s U-Tech design.

Aspire’s FAQ says the opposite. Nautilus X coils do not fit the PockeX, and PockeX coils do not fit the Nautilus X. Only the mouthpiece is shared, the FAQ stating that the PockeX drip tip is the Nautilus X one. If you already own Nautilus heads, such as those in the kit covered in our Aspire Zelos 3 hands-on, the answer is no.

On use, Aspire positions the 0.6 Ω 316L coil for flavour and vapour, and the 1.2 Ω Kanthal coil for e-liquids with a higher nicotine strength. The product page also settles a frequent worry, two different boxes for the same coils, by confirming that both are genuine and that one is simply the older packaging.

Manuals, help pages and authenticity checks on Aspire’s site

The download page attached to the Aspire PockeX offers two PDFs, a standard manual and a multilingual TPD manual. The standard manual itself lists a 2 ml TPD compliant capacity, confirming that the pen was never built any larger.

Aspire’s verification centre deserves a closer look. Since a security upgrade in 2022, checking the code of a recent product requires signing in to an Aspire account, with the check carried out from the personal area. The site keeps separate identification methods for products made in 2017 and 2018, then from 2019 to 2021, plus an older system for anything made before 2017.

For a PockeX bought second hand or from an unfamiliar seller, that check remains the only proof of origin on offer.

What the manual asks of you

The PockeX manual describes few actions, but each one matters. Five quick presses of the button switch the device on or off, and the light flashes three times to confirm. Above 30 per cent charge the light is blue, below that it changes colour, orange according to the manual and red according to the product page, a difference with no practical effect.

Filling means unscrewing the top cap and staying below the max line. The coil screws into that same top cap, so it can be changed without draining the tank. For mains charging, Aspire’s FAQ recommends a 5 V, 1 A adaptor and advises against 2 A phone chargers. FAQ

These five questions come up among PockeX owners, and Aspire’s own documents answer them.

Why does the PockeX flash ten times and then stop?

That is the automatic cut-off. According to the manual, after 10 seconds of continuous firing the device stops heating and the light flashes ten times. Release the button and let the device rest for a moment.

Is it normal for the PockeX to get warm in use?

Yes, according to Aspire’s FAQ. The maker suggests pausing every two or three puffs so the cotton can soak again, especially with a high VG liquid, and points out that the 1.2 Ω coil needs less power.

How long should I wait after the first fill?

Aspire recommends letting the cotton saturate fully before the first puff, which takes around two to three minutes depending on the liquid’s thickness. Firing sooner risks burning the wick.

Should the battery be run flat before recharging?

According to Aspire’s manual, you should not recharge before the low-battery signal, and the cell should be discharged fully before each charge. That instruction is the manufacturer’s own and applies to this device only. The same manual also advises unplugging the device once charging has finished.

Is the PockeX Anniversary Edition a different model?

No. Retailers sell gradient colours under that name, and Aspire’s page lists those same gradients under the single PockeX spec sheet, with the same 1500 mAh battery and 2 ml tank.

Aspire PockeX, the right source for the right answers

Aspire’s own website settles what shop listings blur. The PockeX takes only its own coils, runs in bypass with no power setting and holds 2 ml whatever the version. For the PockeX Box, trust the official store listing rather than the presentation page.

Cross-checking the product page, manual, FAQ and verification centre of the Aspire PockeX remains the surest way to know what you are buying. The same method works for any vaping hardware, from a slim pen to the most complete box mod.
